Endowment Appeal

The Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair has been a vital part of our community since its formation in 1993. We have funded many new initiatives and projects in our community.

We have been successful in supporting the Arts, bringing the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and POPS to our community on many occasions, making this the South Hills home of the River City Brass Band concerts, and sponsoring jazz concerts such as Eddie Palmieri, Michael Pedicin Quartet and the Spyro Gyra concert on April 8, 2011. We have sponsored science and technology fairs, and led the development of our technologically connected community with our website www.cfusc.orgWe have published our annual newsletter that reports our activities, communicates our grant giving and thanks our donors.

Two new initiatives involve the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair Lecture Series 2010-2011 and the Live In Concert. The lecture series details are presented elsewhere on this site. The Live In Concert for 2010-2011 included “An Evening with Marvin Hamlisch” that took place on September 20, 2010, and The Michael Pedicin Quartet/The Dave Brubeck Experience on November 19, 2010 and Spyro Gyra as previously mentioned.

The CommunityFoundation of Upper St.Clair was able to acquire a Steinway Concert Grand Piano for the Upper St. Clair High School Theatre during 2008, and another grand piano for the new Boyce Middle School Theater in 2010

The cause for increasing our own endowment should speak for itself. We need to be able to maintain our office, publish a newsletter, maintain the website, and give grants that fund those community projects that meet our grant criteria. Currently, we work with volunteers, we will try to keep it that way, but we must maintain an office and the ability to communicate. Please consider making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you have Adobe Acrobat, you can download and print the Donor Form and return it to the Community Foundation via U.S. mail or donate through using PayPal on our website.  All donations are gratefully accepted and responsibly used to further the mission of creating a sense of community for all the people of Upper St. Clair.

We would ask that our residents consider making a financial donation to express your interest in our community and in supporting these projects.  If you would like more details, I would welcome the opportunity to sit down with you and share about the projects.  Please feel free to contact me at 412-831-1107 and we can plan a time to meet. I look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,

Angela Petersen, Executive Director
